Ever wondered about the evil people that cause such a scare in society and what it takes to catch them and put them behind bars? What if the police caught evil itself or in this case, the one who claims to be the most inspiring agent of evil, Satan himself. The Serpent and The Saul, authored by Alex Bloodworth, takes us through such a scenario. The reader should be ready for a ride through the trial and the events that lead up to the capture and trial of the dark angel himself. An interesting read with questions of faith, politics, and current social topics...Suspense Magazine
Alex Bloodworth has caught the essence of the criminal enterprise committed by the disturbingly cool character of Devon Facil...In the Serpent and the Saul, Bloodworth went far beyond simply reciting a story. He entwined a frightening depiction of what could possibly happen with today's political apathy. Pick up this book if you're not afraid of cultural differences, the disparity between the classes, and the slap-in-the-face wake-up call to start paying attention to the world around you. Bravo Bloodworth!...Katy Brevard
Bloodworth writes with a firm understanding of the police investigatory system as well as courtroom conduct, the realistic dialogue gripping as the tension mounts. The paranormal elements of the story don’t detract from the solid crime suspense presentation. Many of the events resemble those that have already occurred in our daily history—or may be right around the corner...Babs Mountjoy
This book is a great mix of a couple of genres. From page one, I was hooked, and I couldn't put it down. Seeing what I do in the country today, with the economic troubles and the political imbalance, I can see something like this happening. Alex Bloodworth was very clever in how he wrote the devil into this, since he doesn't really do any fire and brimstone magic. Everything criminal his bad guy does is something a human criminal might do, except his purpose is a whole lot more diabolical. It's a terrifying tale...Marvin D.
THEY SAY THE DEVIL IS IN THE DETAILS, BUT HE’S ALSO IN AMERICAN POLITICS
Surely you’ve questioned, at one time or another, whether a certain politician in office has made a deal with the devil to win an election. Or maybe you’ve wondered if they must be possessed by something evil and terrifying to be doing the things they are once they get into office. It can’t just be stupidity, greed, arrogance, or any combination of a number of the seven deadly sins that motivates them. Or can it?
Sergeant Stephen Shendly has a case dumped into his lap when the two young sons of a United States senator are murdered in a horrific way. His team of detectives pursues an investigation that leads them to suspect an appalling motive of political manipulation meant to deteriorate the three-class existence of American society and pit the surviving haves against the have-nots. As the country experiences the beginning of domestic strife in the form of emerging revolutionary factions, Shendly and his people must convict their diabolical suspect of the appalling crimes they’ve uncovered he’s already done. And stop him from committing more in his efforts of destroying America as a bastion of democracy and freedom.
New author, Alex Bloodworth, writes a fast-paced narrative with no holds barred. This political-legal thriller has a supernatural bent to it with just enough flair to give readers a reason not to believe the events depicted within the pages could actually happen. Otherwise, this book would inspire panic and doom saying in even the most level-headed realist. It is complex fiction that goes against the grain of formulaic storytelling. Its appeal reaches across many genres, hooking readers from a variety of tastes. The trial alone is a fascinating amalgamation of forensics, due process, and courtroom theatrics that will have people gasping in surprise and snickering at the unintentional wit of the adversarial legal teams. The Serpent and the Saul promises to suck readers in from the onset and not let go until the very end, where the question remains: can the devil be convicted of the crimes he’s committed on American soil?
